Dear Petersen Family Members,

My name is George Tveden. I am great-grandson of Sigvardt Petersen. I have previously attempted to contact all Sigvardt Petersen family descendents and members concerning mineral rights and oil lease offers.

Because of the time involved in letter writing and envelope stuffing, and postage, I have created a website;

NOTE; THIS IS A RE-POST. SINCE THIS LETTER WAS ORIGINALLY POSTED MY DEAR DAD, LEONARD TVEDEN HAS PASSED AWAY DEC. 4, 2010. HE WILL BE FOREVER MISSED.

ALSO; I APOLOGIZE FOR INCORRECTLY SPELLING SIGVART PETERSON'S NAME ON THE NAME OF THIS SITE. IT WOULD ALL HAVE TO BE STARTED OVER TO CORRECT THIS ERROR. I HOPE EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS I SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO START ALL OVER.

I urge all of you to sign up and tell all of your family members about this site. (especially those of you who do not have computers) If you do not have a computer, please ask a member of your family or a friend to help you get signed up.

This site has been created to re-link our family, to learn about and get to know each other, and share our family history, stories, and pictures. Also importantly, to discuss how to come together as a "Petersen Family Coalition" to negotiate a meaningful, equitable lease for offers on the land bequethed to the heirs of Sigvard Petersen.

We are off to a great start on the site, and are adding family members every week. You can even listen to an interview recorded in 1964 with Sigvardt Petersen! This is really special, and was graciously provided by Mary L. Denino. The interview was conducted by Ankers and Fred Petersen and discusses the life of Sigvardt Petersen. Also my cousin, Karen Louise Tveden Caton has began structure of our family tree on the site. She has volunteered to be "Keeper of the Tree", and will need our help to complete her mission.

I want to thank you all for the responses from the first letter last year, and apologize for the long delay in communication since. The website is the only way I could think of to get us all together on the same "proverbial" and "literal" page at the same time. Hopefully we can eventually organize a reunion in reality.
