Sigvardt Petersen Family

A Place To Discuss Peterson Family Matters, and Oil, Gas, and Mineral Rights

I have very limited information on the family tree, but I have posted everything in an inexpensive computer program for recording such things (Legacy Family History). I initially got most of my information from a telephone conversation with my grandmother Viola on 4.1.1984. Then I filled in additional information from the 10.24.1964 recording posted on this site. After putting it all down on paper, I soon realized it was going to get very confusing and difficult to read, so I've attached an overview of the entire Family Tree to the original Family Tree discussion, starting with Peter Swensen (Sigvardt's father); and have converted it to PDF format so all can view it (if interested). You'll need to zoom in on it to read the info because the document is actually 6 letter-sized pages wide). I'll update information gained from discussions on this site and provide a new PDF periodically.

For discussion purposes at this site (and to organize this elepant into bite-sized pieces) I've created a separate discussion for each clan and each one of the 11 children of Sigvardt and Elena Petersen is the head of a clan. So if you have personal information that you can give me to update that particular clan (descendant), you can respond on that particular clan's discussion. I hope this makes it much less confusing. You can always look at the PDF of the overall Peter Swensen Family Tree to get the whole picture as it develops. I'm really looking forward to getting to know more of you and thank you in advance for your enthusiastic participation. Please also forgive me if I've got wrong information on this initial draft--and be quick to correct me!

Check out information on Lenvik, established January 1, 1838 (where Sigvardt was born in Feb of 1876) by going to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenvik (cut & paste)
